British photographer shows off best work of 1960s celebrity

British photographer Terry O’Neill made a name for himself shooting the most prominent stars of the 1960s, quickly moving up the ranks from his first gig shooting Laurence Olivier to following around the likes of The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, The Beatles, and Bridgette Bardot. Later in his career O’Neill landed perhaps his best recognition for an iconic image of Faye Dunaway — his girlfriend at the time — lost in exhaustion the morning after winning her Oscar for Network in 1977. Now the Mouche Gallery in Los Angeles is celebrating 50 years of O’Neill’s iconic photographs, as well as the release of his new book The Opus in an exhibit running until July 15th. Mouche is currently displaying a wide range of O’Neill’s best work, as well as many lesser known images, including timeless shots of Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Paul Newman.
