Today, when we talked about beauty salons and how it was important for women to go their, for their look as for their feeling, how they are probably glad to talk about their problems to someone who won't judge them, and how these salons and these services were a kind of commoditization of femininity, I couldn't help but think about this scene from Gran Torino (hope you all saw it, it is a really, really great movie), when Clint Eastwood takes Tao to the Barber Shop in order to teach him how to behave with the other men. He even says that he wants to 'man him up'!
