A mosaic art piece comprised of over 1.3 million Pocky sticks (1,307,208 to be exact) of Japanese pop star Kazuya Ninomiya was presented yesterday in Tokyo. Ninomiya, a member of pop band Arashi who rose to global acclaim for his performance in Clint Eastwood's Letters From Iwo Jima and appears in TV commercials for the brand, says he was completely surprised when he opened the curtains behind him at the event, revealing the masterpiece.

"I smelled it first, so I figured that there was something going on with Pocky, but no one told me anything about it," Ninomiya said of the artwork that is 50.92 square meters in size and was created in 48 hours by 240 workers . "It must have taken tremendous amount of time and effort [to create].... It was a once in a lifetime experience. I am grateful and surprised."

Not only did unprecedented artistic feat using the delicious Japanese snack's chocolate and strawberry flavors impress its subject, but it also found its way into the Guinness Book of World Records for largest mosaic art made of biscuit stick. Oishii!
