The Coordination Forum for Countering Anti-Semitism (CFCA) has reported that “Paula Deen blames ‘the Jews’ for firing.”
This really hurts their credibility for countering anti-semitism when they fall for a satire at The Daily Currant.
Of course, if you took a minute to peruse Daily Currant’s other recent stories, you’d find really crazy headlines that showed the site to be nothing but satire.
If you didn’t think of doing that, you could do one quick Google search that would cast doubt on the entire story. There is no WTMI in Atlanta. WTMI is a Catholic station in Syracuse, New York. Additionally, Dave Garver is the character played by Clint Eastwood in Play Misty for Me. In that movie, Garver is a radio deejay on KRML in Carmel, California.
I would expect that the CFCA needs to make a retraction and apology to Ms. Deen for posting this story as a legitimate one. Of course, they may just choose to delete it.
