Gio Gonzalez honored with his own day in Hialeah, FL | Los That ...

The Washington Nationals had the most wins (98) of any team during MLB’s 2012 regular season and finished in first place in the National League East. A big part of their success was the performance of left-handed starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez, who finished third in the league’s Cy Young Award voting. He led the NL in wins (21), finished sixth in ERA (2.89), was tied for fourth in strikeouts (207), and had the lowest batting average against (.206).

Earlier this week Gonzalez was present for a meeting of the City Council of Hialeah, Florida (where he was born & raised), who congratulated him on his recent success and presented him with a pretty special honor.
